Build Your Own Opt-In Subscriber List

Overview: When you join any network marketing company, most will tell you to come up with your "100 Names List"... you know, the list of all the people you know that may want to join you in your business. The typical types of people they ask you to write down (memory jogger) would be people like your babysitter, your family, your hairdresser, your pharmacist, the pizza delivery guy, your favorite bank teller (afer all, you'd be doing her a favor ). While this type of marketing may seem like a great idea on the surface, if you've ever done this you have probably found it is not the most effective way to build your business. I mean, come on... if you opened a restaurant would you expect all of your friends and family to eat every meal at your restaurant so you wouldn't go out of business? What if your friends and family don't like what you serve? What if there is a restaurant closer to their home or place of employment that's more convenient for them and has food they like better? Would you seriously ask them to drive 30 minutes out of their way just so they can help you stay in business? So, in my opinion, bugging your friends and family about how great and wonderful your business is and begging them to join you is not making the best use of your time. We are all seriously busy. You need a shortcut to success in your home based business and you need to reach out to people that are already interested in making extra money from home - or a full time income from home. If you've been using the Internet to build your home based business, or if you've had any type of online home based business for more than a few days, then you will no doubt have heard someone say, "if you want to make money online, you have to build an opt-in list." Take that advice very seriously, because it's true! It took me a long time to finally let the list building advice sink in, so I didn't start doing it until I had my home business for a few years. Why? Because for starters, I had no idea how to beging; I couldn't figure out the best way build my own list. However, once I figured it out and started building my own list, I realized just how important it truly is. My only regret now is that I didn't start a lot sooner. Every marketer knows the key to online marketing is building a well targeted and responsive opt-in email list. They know Success comes from building Relationships with a large subscriber base. Building a good responsive list can take years of hard work and effort but the rewards are worth it. Ask any successful marketer to name his most valuable business asset... and he will probably say " My Opt-in List!" If you want to succeed in your internet business - no matter what you're promoting or selling - you have to build your OWN optin list. And you can save yourself a lot of agony right now because I've figured out how to do it and will tell you exactly how to build your own list. Ever wonder why so many marketers give away - free reports, free ebooks, free software, free services, free memberships, etc.? They are building their contact list! The answer lies in the importance of a contact list. You have to make first contact with like minded people who are interested in the same subject. The most successful marketers are the ones who take this first contact and build a relationship with the subscriber. They know 'they will only succeed' when 'they have helped their subscribers to succeed'. There are numerous ways to build an opt-in list. 1. Give away a free report that you wrote. This could be difficult if you don't know what to write! 2. Give away a free eBook that talks about some different ways to build a home based business. Which one? 3. Give away free software - this could be a tool to help them build their business like the MLMHitList 4. Give away a free newsletter where you give them valuable information on how to build their online business. 5. The list is endless.... All this seems pretty straight-forward; however, the biggest hurdle people seem to have is knowing where to start. How to you write an eBook? What format do you put it in? What should it have in it? How many pages should it be? There is a lot to be said about information overload. Then, if you decide not to write your own eBook how do you go about finding a good one to send to them that doesn't send your prospect into someone elses business? Well, you need a book you can re-brand with your links and give it away. This type of marketing is known as 'viral' marketing. The idea here is that you will send your rebranded eBook to someone and they'll send it to other marketers (perhaps their downline), who will then send it to other people they know, and so on. Does this work? YES. Free software? Seriously? There's so much of it - which one should you give away? What does you prospect really want? Well, for starters, if you are marketing online to other internet marketers they are going to want tools that help them build their business in less time. Yourself and Exploding Your Business
What does it mean to "brand yourself"? It's quite simple actually. Ask anyone that's been online successfully for at least a year and they'll tell you that you need to have a website with your picture and name on it so that you can be recoginized. This type of page is also referred to as a Splash Page. Most people advertise a company replicated website or an affiliate site. However, people join people they do NOT join companies. Think about that for a minute... if you saw an ad for XYZ company and you also saw an ad where someone is promoting themselves as part of XYZ company, who would you most likely join? Most would join the PERSON because there's a perceived connection there - you are joining someone who can help you be successful! Let me make this very clear...you must brand yourself and market yourself - not your business opportunity or affiliate program. Read that last sentence again. All of the pages that come with this system will brand you and not the business you are promoting. No where does it say JOIN XYZ COMPANY. They have to first opt-in to your list to see what company you are promoting. Sneaky, huh? Write down the campaign nickname you selected because you will need this later when you update your RecruitLikeLana profile so that I can build the opt-in form on your page for you.... Next, click on the Letters tab and write at least one letter thanking your prospect for submitting their details and give them information about your business - do not scream it at them... at bare minimum give them a link to your replicated site for your primary business so they can take a look at what you are offering to them. Here's an example: " Dear **FIRSTNAME**, Hi my name is Lana Robinson and I would like to thank you for subuscribing to my list to learn more about XYZ company. Follow the link below to learn more about how I can show you how to blah blah blah blah." Then put your website for your network marketing company in the letter, and put your name, email and phone number at the bottom of the letter so they can contact you if they want. Save the letter. Then, change the # of Days Delay on the letter to 0 so that it will be sent to the prospect immediately after they've confirmed their subscription to your newsletter. Don't stop at just one letter... you just need one letter to get started... add another letter the next day and then another the next and so on so that your prospects are getting emails from you every other day or every 3 days. Do not lose contact with your subscribers or they may forget about you. :-) Here are some ideas: perhaps your network marketing company runs monthly specials - tell your subscribers about those - like saving 20% on the best laundry detergent ever invented. Maybe you have an ebook you want to send them. Maybe you've written an article and posted it to your blog and you want to let your list know so they can go to your blog and make comments.... Maybe you want to write a letter telling them that when they join YOU in your business you can give them a free online marketing system and give them your RecruitLikeLana link to set it up (here's the link you can send them: http://RecruitLikeLana.com/r/admin/homepage) Get the picture? So, they could join immediately as they are setting up their system or after they start receiving your messages. Don't get discouraged; it usually takes someone 7 times of seeing something before they take action.
